Training using the web

"VIVE!" is a powerful development programme that can be used for leadership development, D&I and for personal development.

Using CISCO's WebEx technology, "VIVE!" can be delivered over the web to facilitate real development over diverse locations. Here's a short article which explains one of the may ways that this can be used:

The People Development Team Ltd (PDT) has been delivering award-winning training to local, UK and global organisations for over ten years.  They are best known for their outplacement programmes and training, including their unique leadership programme, "VIVE!"

Their Chair, Angie Peacock, was pleased to be asked by international technology experts Cisco to deliver a worldwide training programme for their women leaders but was surprised when they asked for the point of delivery to be PDT’s head office in Ware. 

“By using interactive web-based technology we quickly realised there was no limit to the locations that our training could reach – but we had to change our thinking and move away from face to face and traditional e-learning concepts – this was something new and very exciting.” PDT rose to the challenge.  “We have a superbly talented people and we quickly assembled a star team to transform Angela's VIVE! retreat programme into a highly interactive, web-based programme.”

The programme was delivered to ten countries and 70 leaders simultaneously, with brilliant outcomes.  Each part of the programme is a two hour slot, and we have delegates getting really involved with virtual breakout sessions and live feedback:  “The delegates wanted more! We have heard that it has affected behaviours positively and really given individuals in different countries the opportunity to create an international network experience – all without anyone having to travel.”

Angie is now being asked to deliver leadership and cultural training and an outplacement programme to other international organisations – all using web-based technology. “Even with the best technology, you still need great content and a good delivery team for it to be effective. This isn’t a simple solution, but it is a highly effective one.”
