Conference Facilitator/Chairperson

Angie is called upon to Chair both short panel events and longer conferences. She can fire up the most seemingly dry of topics and keeps the energy at events high at all times. Angie and her team are also happy to be involved at the planning stage of your event to ensure smooth running and a professional approach from registration to close!

Challenging Chair
Suitable for when the topic to be discussed is controversial and the panellists are avoiding the issues. Requests for a challenging chair style often come from open conferences where the panellists are arriving from very different sides of the fence. This can be as a result of looking to promote two very differing business standpoints or political posturing. My approach is to be direct, without goading, and yet to seek for a lively and interesting debate. This is a useful style with a smaller panel of up to three.

Informative Chair
Best used where the event is designed to motivate and enlighten. This style is also good for use with inexperienced panellists as it is very centred upon their knowledge and skills or personal story. Less challenging although points of challenge are introduced, albeit staged and the panellists know to expect them. This style is best for in company panels where we are not looking to expose the panel but to encourage the audience.

Knowledgeable Chair
A blend of both of the above. I employ this style when debates are based upon leadership, culture, diversity, entrepreneurship or positive thinking for life change. It allows me to offer from a base of my own knowledge and experience, information or challenge to the debate without losing the neutral stand during the discussion which follows.

A professional approach
Before chairing any event I seek to be informed not only by the sponsors but also by "interviewing" or at least talking on the telephone with the panellists. Prior to this I will have agreed with the sponsor the approach required and drawn up a list of the areas we will explore. This is then circulated to the panellists in advance and then run through together. From this I can then disseminate the key points we need to bring out and show the panellists in the most appropriate light, develop points that will be of use, and either delete or bring forth the controversial as required!

"I just wanted to say thanks. You did so much to make the whole evening
a success. The behind the scenes planning, pre-event discussions and
making the panel feel so at ease for the entire time.

I know it would not have been such a success without all your efforts.
You too were a star performer and should be hosting Question Time tonight!

Thanks again for all your help and encouragement."
